Peter Pan

UK & Ireland Tour - June to September 2016

During the summer of 2016, Rob joined the outdoor theatre company Chapterhouse for their UK and Ireland tour.
The tour saw a group of 8 actors perform two shows in rep as they travelled up and down the country.
One of these shows was the children's classic Peter Pan.

The original story written by J M Barrie and the stage adaptation by Laura Turner, the show tells the story ofPeter Pan, the boy who never grew up, and his adventures through Neverland with his new companion Wendy Darling and her brothers John and Michael. However Captain Hook and Smee are just around the corner to spoil the fun.

This family fun filled show travelled the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland entertaining both children andgrown ups in some of the most beautiful private and public venues.

Rob took on the challenge of playing the iconic role of Peter Pan, transforming into a 12 year boy with only fun on his mind. The role saw Rob perform several sword fights during the performance, some singing and dancing, and of course a lot of running around.

The cast also took on the challenge of driving around the country and assembling and disassembling the stage and set every day. The cast were their own stagehands, tech team and chauffeurs. Each new venue was different to the last, so the set might have to change slightly to accommodate the terrain or indeed the weather. On some occasions in Ireland, the weather was so bad that the show had to be moved indoors, and in doing so the layout and staging of the play had to change. Rob was promoted to company manager during the tour and it was one of his responsibilities to help decide how these challenges would be overcome.
