Jack and the Beanstalk

Stage Tour
15th November 2021 to 17th December 2021

West Midlands Children's Theatre (WMCT) are the longest running children's theatre company in the business, producing quality plays and pantomimes. Founded in 1973 we have over 45 years of experience performing for children throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Throughout the year the company perform seasonal shows to the nation's schools and Rob joined them for their winter pantomime production of Jack and the Beanstalk. The cast of three rehearsed for a week near Market Drayton, then travelled to their first schools on the Ilse of Man, then back to the mainland to visits schools across the North East, North West and parts of Wiltshire and Hampshire.

Rob donned the Dame costume again this year for Mrs Trott but also played the puppets of the Giant and for one of the birds that helps Jack on his journey.

The troop toured during the pandemic so could only have their masks off during the show, and also learnt two versions of the script, one long, one shorter, so that if a school couldn't socially distance the school, they could perform two shorter shows, and everyone could enjoy the fun. 46 shows over 4 weeks, then back home in time for Christmas.
